Dr Sillitoe is the Deputy Director of Sixth Form/Head of Year 13 at The JCB Academy Sixth Form and also the English Literature tutor.
Dr Sillitoe read English at the University of Wales before going on to complete a PhD on Renaissance drama and court culture at the University of Sheffield. A former academic, he has lectured at a number of universities in the UK and held an EU-funded Marie Curie Research Fellowship at University College Cork from 2009 to 2011. Dr Sillitoe has published articles and books on a range of literary topics and for two years worked on the ‘Shakespearean London Theatres’ project, based at The V&A Museum’s Theatre and Performance Department. As the Deputy Director of Sixth Form for Onward Transition, Dr Sillitoe works with students on their UCAS applications for universities and his background in higher education means that he is well-placed to offer support and guidance throughout the entire process.
