The JCB Academy Sixth Form has once again enabled students to go on and pursue a wide range of fantastic careers options through university and degree apprenticeships.

Mrs McGuirk, Principal of The JCB Academy, said: “Many congratulations to all of the students celebrating their results, we are immensely proud that all their tremendous effort has paid off and they have achieved fantastic results which propel them onto the next stage of their lives. A huge thank you to our talented and inspirational Sixth Form staff for the support and encouragement they have given all of our students. Results day at The JCB Academy was packed full of students enjoying the thrill of success and the realisation for many that they are able to fulfil their ambition of attaining a degree apprenticeship or on their chosen course at a prestigious university.

This year, we will break all records relating to the number of degree apprenticeships. It is a particularly special year for young women, with a record number about to embark on a business or engineering higher and degree level apprenticeships with our employer partners.

On behalf of the entire JCB Academy community, I wish our students all the very best for the future.’’

Director of The JCB Academy Sixth Form, Mr Stanmore, said: “Today our students have received yet another set of amazing results. Over 80% of grades awarded on our business and engineering courses were A*/A grades or equivalent, a remarkable achievement and significantly above the national average. Our students have secured remarkable destinations and I have little doubt that many will go on to do extraordinary things!”

This year’s students at The JCB Academy Sixth Form have again received fantastic results in both A-level and diploma subjects, with a record number of degree apprenticeship and university offers:

Leah Field from Branston, Burton-on-Trent won our prestigious Engineering Learner of the Year Award for 2022 and has just successfully completed her engineering and business courses with straight Ds and starts her career on a degree apprenticeship programme at Rolls-Royce next month. She said that her success is due to the unique learning style offered on the engineering and business courses combined with the fantastic support from staff.

Millie Prestwood (main photograph) from Tamworth has been awarded tops grades in her Engineering Diploma (D*D*), A-Level Product Design (A*) and the Extended Project Qualification (A*). Amelia is looking forward to starting at Mercedes AMG as an Engineering Apprentice next month.

Ellie Liebenwood from Hixon, Stafford knew from a young age that she wanted to attend The JCB Academy.  She believes that the challenge to do her very best, together with the support from all the staff and the opportunity to study a vocational subject combined with real work challenges propelled her forward. Despite an unconditional offer she went on to achieve D*D*, A*, A* and will be reading Architecture at University of Lincoln.
