Learners at The JCB Academy Sixth Form have some fantastic opportunities to visit countries all over the world. In the last couple of years we’ve taken learners to:#
Sri Lanka Trip – Learners undertake a care and conservation project in Sri Lanka. This involves building work in either a school or orphanage in Sri Lanka and also an opportunity to get involved with the children by doing craft sessions, fun sports events and perhaps trying some teaching in English of course! Whilst the primary reason for the trip is to complete the building project assigned to our group, we will also have an opportunity for sightseeing in Sri Lanka and visit some of the beautiful tourist attractions including: the Elephant Orphanage, Kandy and we will also be visiting the lovely beaches. India – Learners studying business and engineering have the opportunity to visit India where they’ll consider the social and corporate responsibility of JCB in its Indian manufacturing operation. Learners experience life in India and discuss international opportunities for JCB employees willing to relocate. This trip is sponsored by JCB.
Australia – Learners have the opportunity to participate in a two-week exchange programme with St Patrick’s Technical College in Adelaide.
Switzerland – Business learners are invited to attend a non-compulsory residential trip to Zurich, Switzerland, where amongst other activities they’ll visit the Chocolat Frey AG Factory. The purpose of the trip is to support the Paper 3 research examination theme which focuses on trends, influences and marketing.
Skiing and Watersports – Learners can take the opportunity of a week’s skiing in the likes of Italy, France and Austria or a week’s watersports activities in Spain.
