This week, our new Year 12 learners have taken part in a two-day residential at Brathay in the Lake District – an inspiring start to their Sixth Form journey at The JCB Academy.
The residential has been carefully designed to support learners as they transition into Sixth Form, bringing together those who have moved up from Year 11 with the 25% of learners who have joined us from other schools.
Across the programme, learners have taken part in a series of activities that promote:
- Teamwork – working collaboratively to achieve shared goals.
- Leadership and confidence – taking initiative and stepping outside of comfort zones.
- Friendship and respect – building new connections and valuing each other’s ideas.
- Independence and resilience – preparing for the challenges of Sixth Form study.
The Brathay experience not only helps learners bond as a year group but also sets the tone for the high expectations, responsibility, and ambition that define Sixth Form life at The JCB Academy.
We are proud of the way our Year 12 learners have embraced this opportunity and look forward to seeing them return ready to begin their studies with energy, focus, and determination.
