Learners from The JCB Academy Sixth Form have the opportunity in July to visit Sri Lanka as part of our Global Adventure.
The trip will be arranged through a company called Projects Abroad. They send 10,000 volunteers abroad each year to 31 destinations worldwide and have 600 staff working in 31 destinations, ensuring that all volunteers have a safe and enjoyable trip. Our first trip will be undertaking a care and conservation project in Sri Lanka. This will involve building work in either a school or orphanage in Sri Lanka and also an opportunity to get involved with the children by doing craft sessions, fun sports events and perhaps trying some teaching in English of course!
Whilst the primary reason for the trip is to complete the building project assigned to our group, we will also have an opportunity for sightseeing in Sri Lanka and visit some of the beautiful tourist attractions including: the Elephant Orphanage, Kandy and we will also be visiting the lovely beaches.
Learners will be staying in a hotel during the visit and will have activities in the evening arranged for us by our dedicated Projects Abroad team in Sri Lanka, this will include meals out, traditional Sri Lanka dance evening and a cookery lesson.
